Corona Analysis

In addition to the multipactor module, FEST3D also includes a module for the determination of the power level onset of RF discharges in the presence of a gas.

In particular, FEST3D is able to determine the RF breakdown level close to the critical pressure, i.e., the pressure at which the breakdown level is minimum.

In version 6.0, the possibility to analyse corona discharge (arcing) in arbitrary shaped waveguides has been added. This includes coaxial, slotted, waffle and ridge waveguides among others.
