Multipactor Analysis

FEST3D can be easily used to analyse high-power breakdown phenomena in several type of components. In particular, a multipactor module is fully integrated into FEST3D which is capable to determine the multipactor power breakdown level in complex passive components.

In version 6.0, the possibility to analyse multipactor in arbitrary shaped waveguides has been added. This includes coaxial, slotted, waffle and ridge waveguides among others.

Such a module considers both the real electromagnetic field configuration and electrons inside the device allowing for an accurate computation. As an output, FEST3D provides a report providing the breakdown levels and the input configuration.
